أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ رُفِعَ الْقَلَمُ عَنْ ثَلَاثَةٍ عَنِ النَّائِمِ حَتَّى يَسْتَيْقِظَ وَالْمَعْتُوهِ أَوْ قَالَ الْمَجْنُونِ حَتَّى يَعْقِلَ وَالصَّغِيرِ حَتَّى يَشُبَّ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said: The pen is lifted from three: the sleeper until he wakes, the insane—or he said the mad—until he regains his mind, and the child until he grows up.
