أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ خَالِهِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا لَقِيَ امْرَأَةً فِي بَعْضِ طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَأَصَابَ مِنْهَا مَا دُونَ الْجِمَاعِ فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى فِي ذَلِكَ {وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ} [هود 114] إِلَى {لِلذَّاكِرِينَ} [هود 114] قَالَ مُعَاذٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نَزَلَتْ لِهَذَا خَاصَّةً أَوْ لِلنَّاسِ عَامَّةً قَالَ «بَلْ لَكُمْ عَامَّةً»

✧ A man met a woman on one of the roads of Madinah and did with her everything short of intercourse. He came to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned that to him. Then Allah, exalted is He, sent down concerning that: {And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approaches of the night} [Hud: 114] up to {for those who remember} [Hud: 114]. Mu'adh said: "O Messenger of Allah, was this revealed specifically for him or for people in general?" He said: "Rather, for all of you generally."
