أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ الْكُوفِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمَّارٍ شَدَّادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا مِنْ حُدُودِ اللهِ فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ أَعَادَ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَأَتْبَعَهُ الرَّجُلُ فَأَعَادَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ «هَلْ تَوَضَّأْتَ حِينَ خَرَجْتَ مِنْ بَيْتِكَ فَأَحْسَنْتَ الْوُضُوءَ ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتَ مَعَنَا؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَإِنَّ اللهَ قَدْ غَفَرَ لَكَ ذَنْبَكَ أَوْ حَدَّكَ»

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: I have incurred one of the prescribed punishments of Allah, so carry it out on me. He remained silent. Then he repeated it, and he remained silent. Then the prayer was established, and he prayed. Then he finished, and the man followed him and repeated it to him. He said: "Did you perform ablution when you left your house and perform it well, then pray with us?" He said: Yes. He said: "Indeed Allah has forgiven you your sin, or your prescribed punishment."
