أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ عَنِ الْمُسْتَوْرِدِ عَنْ صِلَةَ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ

صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَافْتَتَحَ سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ فَقَرَأَ بِمِائَةِ آيَةٍ لَمْ يَرْكَعْ فَمَضَى قُلْتُ يَخْتِمُهَا فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ فَمَضَى فَقُلْتُ يَخْتِمُهَا ثُمَّ يَرْكَعُ فَمَضَى حَتَّى قَرَأَ سُورَةَ النِّسَاءِ ثُمَّ آلَ عِمْرَانَ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ نَحْوًا مِنْ قِيَامِهِ يَقُولُ «سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمِ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمِ» ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ «سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ» وَأَطَالَ الْقِيَامَ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ فَأَطَالَ السُّجُودَ يَقُولُ فِي سُجُودِهِ «سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى» لَا يَمُرُّ بِآيَةِ تَخْوِيفٍ أَوْ تَعْظِيمٍ لِلَّهِ إِلَّا ذَكَرَهُ

Translation

✧ I prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one night. He began with Surah al-Baqarah and recited one hundred verses without bowing, then continued. I said, "He will complete it in the two rak'ahs." He continued. I said, "He will complete it and then bow." He continued until he recited Surah al-Nisa', then Al 'Imran, then he bowed for about as long as his standing, saying, "Glory be to my Lord the Magnificent, Glory be to my Lord the Magnificent." Then he raised his head and said, "Allah hears the one who praises Him. Our Lord, to You be praise," and prolonged the standing. Then he prostrated and prolonged the prostration, saying in his prostration, "Glory be to my Lord the Most High, Glory be to my Lord the Most High." He did not pass by a verse of warning or glorification of Allah except that he mentioned it.
