✧ I heard Awf b. Malik say: I stood with the Prophet ﷺ [in night prayer]. He began and used the siwak, performed ablution, then stood and prayed. He began and recited from al-Baqarah. He did not pass by a verse of mercy except that he paused and asked, nor pass by a verse of punishment except that he paused and sought refuge. Then he bowed and remained bowing as long as his standing, saying in his bowing, "Glory be to the Possessor of might, dominion, pride, and greatness." Then he prostrated for as long as his bowing, saying in his prostration, "Glory be to the Possessor of might, dominion, pride, and greatness." Then he recited Al 'Imran, then another surah, then another surah, doing the same.
