al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 7188

✧ Regarding the person who deceived his wife, and mentioning the disagreement of the narrators regarding the news of Nu'man b. Bashir in that, and mentioning the disagreement regarding Abu Bishr.

أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مَاهَانَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ عَنْ هُشَيْمٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ قَالَ جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ زَوْجَهَا قَدْ وَقَعَ بِجَارِيَتِهَا فَقَالَ

النُّعْمَانُ أَمَا إِنَّ عِنْدِي فِي ذَلِكَ خَبَرًا شَافِيًا أَخَذْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنْ كُنْتِ أَذِنْتِ لَهُ ضَرَبْتُهُ مِائَةً وَإِنْ كُنْتِ لَمْ تَأْذَنِي لَهُ رَجَمْتُهُ»

✧ Al-Nu'man said: I have a sufficient report about that which I took from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: "If you gave him permission, I would flog him one hundred lashes; and if you did not give him permission, I would stone him."
