أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَاسِمٌ وَهُوَ أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْجَرْمِيُّ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مَالِكٍ

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ جَاءَ مَاعِزُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَرْبَعَ مَرَّاتٍ كُلَّ ذَلِكَ يَرُدَّهُ وَيَقُولُ «أَخْبَرْتَ أَحَدًا غَيْرِي» ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِرَجْمِهِ فَذَهَبُوا بِهِ إِلَى مَكَانٍ يَبْلُغُ صَدْرَهَ إِلَى حَائِطٍ فَذَهَبَ يَثِبُ فَرَمَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَأَصَابَ أَصْلَ أُذُنَيْهِ فَصُرِعَ فَقَتَلَهُ

✧ From a man among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, who said: Ma‘iz b. Malik came to the Prophet ﷺ four times, and each time he turned him away, saying, “Have you told anyone other than me?” Then he ordered that he be stoned. They took him to a place where a wall reached his chest. He tried to jump, and a man threw a stone at him, hitting the base of his ears. He fell and was killed.
