أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَقِيلٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ النَّحْوِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عِكْرِمَةُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

«مَنْ كَفَرَ بِالرَّجْمِ فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِالْقُرْآنِ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ» قَوْلُ {يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولُنَا يُبَيِّنُ لَكُمْ كَثِيرًا مِمَّا كُنْتُمْ تُخْفُونَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ} [المائدة 15] فَكَانَ الرَّجْمُ مِمَّا أَخْفُوا

Translation

  5. Ibn ʿAbbās

✧ "Whoever disbelieves in stoning has disbelieved in the Qur'an from whence he does not realize." The saying: {O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger making clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture} [al-Ma'idah 15]. Stoning was among what they concealed.
