أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّاغَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْجَوَّابِ وَاسْمُهُ أَحْوَصُ بْنُ جَوَّابٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَعْلَى

أَنَّ أَبَاهُ غَزَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةَ تَبُوكَ فَاسْتَأْجَرَ أَجِيرًا فَقَاتَلَ رَجُلًا فَعَضَّ الرَّجُلُ بِذِرَاعِهِ فَلَمَّا أَوْجَعَهُ نَتَرَهَا فَأَنْدَرَ ثَنِيَّتَهُ فَرُفِعَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «يَعْمَدُ أَحَدُكُمْ فَيَعَضُّ أَخَاهُ كَمَا يَعَضُّ الْفَحْلُ فَأَبْطَلَ ثَنِيَّتَهُ»

✧ His father raided with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the expedition of Tabuk and hired a worker. He fought a man, and the man bit his forearm; when it hurt him, he yanked it away and knocked out his front tooth. That was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said: "One of you intends to bite his brother as the stallion bites?" So he invalidated the tooth.
