أَخْبَرَنِي زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يُوسُفُ بْنُ وَاضِحٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ بَاتَ وَفِي يَدِهِ غَمَرٌ فَلَا يَلُومَنَّ إِلَّا نَفْسَهُ» قَالَ لَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الثَّلَاثَةُ الْأَحَادِيث كُلُّهَا خَطَأٌ وَالصَّوَابُ الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ مُرْسَلٌ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever spends the night with grease on his hand, let him blame no one but himself.' Abu Abd al-Rahman said to us: All three of these hadiths are erroneous. The correct version is that of al-Zuhri, from Ubayd Allah b. Abdullah, mursal.
