✧ The remembrance of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, when eating.

أَخْبَرَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا دَخَلَ الرَّجُلُ بَيْتَهُ فَذَكَرَ اللهَ عِنْدَ دُخُولِهِ وَعِنْدَ طَعَامِهِ» قَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ لَا مَبِيتَ وَلَا عَشَاءَ لَكُمْ هَاهُنَا وَإِذَا دَخَلَ فَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللهَ عِنْدَ دُخُولِهِ قَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ أَدْرَكْتُمُ الْمَبِيتَ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللهِ عِنْدَ طَعَامِهِ قَالَ أَدْرَكْتُمُ الْمَبِيتَ وَالْعَشَاءَ

Translation

✧ He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "When a man enters his house and remembers Allah upon entering and upon his food, Satan says: 'There is no lodging and no dinner for you here.' And if he enters and does not remember Allah upon entering, Satan says: 'You have caught the lodging.' And if he does not mention Allah's name upon his food, he says: 'You have caught the lodging and the dinner.'"
