أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ
كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ نَتَدَاوَلُ صَحْفَةَ مِنْ غُدْوَةٍ حَتَّى اللَّيْلِ يَقُومُ عَشَرَةٌ وَيَقْعُدُ عَشَرَةٌ قُلْنَا فَمَا كَانَتْ تُمَدُّ؟ قَالَ «مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ تَعْجَبُ مَا كَانَتْ تُمَدُّ إِلَّا مِنْ هَاهُنَا وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ»

✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ sharing a large platter of food from morning until night: ten would sit and ten would rise. We said: "How was it replenished?" He said: "From what do you marvel? It was not replenished except from here," and he gestured with his hand toward the sky.
