✧ License to Eat Cooked Onions and Garlic

أَخْبَرَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي الزَّرْقَاءِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ قُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قُرَّةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَكَلَ مِنْ هَاتَيْنِ الشَّجَرَتَيْنِ الْخَبِيثَتَيْنِ فَلَا يَقْرَبَنَّ مَسْجِدَنَا فَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا بُدَّ آكِلِيهِمَا فَأَمِيتُوهُمَا طَبْخًا»

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Hārūn b. Zayd b. Abū al-Zarqāʾ from my father
  2. Khālid b. Maysarah
  3. Muʿāwiyah b. Qurrah
  4. Abīh Qurrah

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ: "Whoever eats from these two foul plants should not approach our mosque. If you must eat them, then kill them by cooking."
