أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ يَعِيشَ بْنِ طِخْفَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ قَالَ

كَانَ أَبِي مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الصُّفَّةِ فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَنْطَلِقُ بِالرَّجُلِ وَبِالرَّجُلَيْنِ حَتَّى بَقِيتُ خَامِسَ خَمْسَةٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «انْطَلِقُوا بِنَا إِلَى بَيْتِ عَائِشَةَ» فَانْطَلَقْنَا فَقَالَ «يَا عَائِشَةُ أَطْعِمِينَا» فَجَاءَتْ بِجَشِيشَةٍ فَأَكَلْنَا ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ أَطْعِمِينَا فَجَاءَتْ بِحَيْسَةٍ مِثْلِ الْقَطَاةِ فَأَكَلْنَا ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ اسْقِينَا فَجَاءَتْ بِقَدَحٍ صَغِيرٍ فَشَرِبْنَا ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِنْ شِئْتُمْ بِتُّمْ وَإِنْ شِئْتُمُ انْطَلَقْتُمْ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ»

✧ "My father was one of the companions of the Prophet. He used to go out with one or two other men until I remained the fifth person with the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Come with us to the house of Aisha.' So we went and he said, 'O Aisha, feed us.' So she brought a dish and we ate. Then he said, 'O Aisha, feed us.' So she brought a piece of meat like a piece of chicken and we ate. Then he said, 'O Aisha, give us something to drink.' So she brought a small cup and we drank. Then he said, 'If you wish, we can go to the mosque.'"
