أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

صَنَعَ رَجُلٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ طَعَامًا فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنِ ائْتِنِي أَنْتَ وَخَمْسَةٌ قَالَ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ «أَنِ ائْذَنْ لِي فِي السَّادِسِ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ هَذَا خَطَأٌ وَالصَّوَابُ الَّذِي قَبْلَهُ

Translation

✧ A man prepared food for the Prophet ﷺ and sent word to him: “Come to me, you and five others.” He said: “So he sent word to him: ‘Permit me to bring a sixth.’” Abu ʿAbd al-Raḥmān said: “This is a mistake; the correct version is the one before it.”
