أَخْبَرَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ غَزَا خَيْبَرَ فَأَصَبْنَاهَا عَنْوَةً فَجُمِعَ السَّبْيُ فَجَاءَ دِحْيَةُ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ أَعْطِنِي جَارِيَةً مِنَ السَّبْيِ فَقَالَ «اذْهَبْ فَخُذْ جَارِيَةً» فَأَخَذَ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيٍّ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ أَعْطَيْتَ دِحْيَةَ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيٍّ سَيِّدَةَ قُرَيْظَةَ وَالنَّضِيرِ؟ مَا تَصْلُحُ إِلَّا لَكَ قَالَ «ادْعُوهُ بِهَا» فَجَاءَ بِهَا فَلَمَّا نَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالَ «خُذْ جَارِيَةً مِنَ السَّبْيِ غَيْرَهَا» قَالَ وَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ ثَابِتٌ يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ مَا أَصْدَقَهَا؟ قَالَ نَفْسَهَا أَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا قَالَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانُوا بِالطَّرِيقِ جَهَّزَتْهَا لَهُ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ فَأَهْدَتْهَا لَهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَأَصْبَحَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَرُوسًا قَالَ «مَنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ شَيْءٌ فَلْيَجِئْ بِهِ وَبَسَطَ نِطَاعًا فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَجِيءُ بِالْأَقِطِ وَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَجِيءُ بِالتَّمْرِ وَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَجِيءُ بِالسَّمْنِ فَحَاسُوا حَيْسَةً فَكَانَتْ وَلِيمَةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ» تَابَعَهُ شُعَيْبُ بْنُ الْحَبْحَابِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raided Khaybar and we captured it by force. The captives were gathered, and Dihyah came and said, “O Prophet of Allah, give me a slave girl from the captives.” He said, “Go and take a slave girl.” He took Safiyyah bt. Huyayy. A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “O Prophet of Allah, have you given Dihyah Safiyyah bt. Huyayy, the mistress of Qurayzah and al-Nadir? She is not suitable except for you.” He said, “Call him with her.” He came with her, and when the Prophet ﷺ looked at her, he said, “Take a slave girl from the captives other than her.” He said, “And the Prophet ﷺ freed her and married her.” Thabit said to him, “O Abu Hamzah, what did he give her as a dowry?” He said, “Herself; he freed her and married her.” He said, “Until when they were on the road, Umm Sulaym prepared her for him and presented her to him at night, and the Prophet ﷺ woke up as a bridegroom. He said, ‘Whoever has something, let him bring it,’ and he spread out a leather mat. One man came with dried curds, another with dates, and another with clarified butter, and they mixed a sweet dish. This was the wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.” Shuayb b. al-Habhab followed him.
