حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَلَقِيتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ مَهْيَمْ؟ قَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ»

Translation

✧ Abd al-Rahman b. Awf married a woman from the Ansar. I met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said, “What is the matter?” He said, “I married a woman from the Ansar.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Hold a feast, even if with a sheep.”
