✧ Inheritance of Relatives Other than Legal Guardians

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُجَاهِدًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا ذَكَرَتْ

أَنَّ مَوْلًى لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ تُوُفِّيَ فَذَكَرُوا لَهُ مِيرَاثَهُ فَقَالَ «هَلْ هَاهُنَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ أَرْضِهِ؟» قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَادْفَعُوهُ إِلَيْهِ» 6359 أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَعْوَرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ عَنْ مُجَاهِدِ بْنِ وَرْدَانَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ خَيْرًا عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ نَحْوَهُ

✧ That a freed slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ died, and they mentioned his inheritance to him. He said: “Is there anyone here from the people of his land?” They said: “Yes.” He said: “Then give it to him.” 6359 Abdullah b. Muhammad b. Tamim al-Missisi informed me: Hajjaj, meaning Ibn Muhammad al-A'war, narrated to us: Shu'ba narrated to me from Abd al-Rahman b. al-Asbahani, from Mujahid b. Wardan, a man from the people of Madinah, and he praised him well, from Urwa, from Aisha, similarly.
