أَخْبَرَنِي هِلَالُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

نُسِخَ مِنْ هَذِهِ السُّورَةِ يَعْنِي آيَتَانِ آيَةُ الْقَلَائِدِ وَقَوْلُهُ {فَإِنْ جَاءُوكَ فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ أَوْ أَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ} رَدَّهُمْ إِلَى حُكَّامِهِمْ حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ {وَأَنِ احْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللهُ} [المائدة 49] قَالَ فَأُمِرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللهُ

Translation

✧ Two verses of this Surah were abrogated, which are the verse of the ornaments and his saying, "So if they come to you, then judge between them or turn away from them." He returned them to their rulers until the verse was revealed, "And judge between them by what Allah has revealed." [Surah Al-Ma'idah 49] He said, "So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was commanded to judge between them by what Allah has revealed."
