✧ Sale of Food Before It Expires

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَاسِمٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ يَزِيدَ الْجَرْمِيُّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنِ ابْتَاعَ طَعَامًا فَلَا يَبِعْهُ حَتَّى يَكْتَالَهُ» [55] 6146 أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِمِثْلِهِ وَالَّذِي قَبْلَهُ حَتَّى يَقْبِضَهُ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever buys food should not sell it until he measures it out." [55] 6146 Ishaq b. Mansur informed us; he said: Abd al-Rahman informed us, from Sufyan, from Amr, from Tawus, from Ibn Abbas, from the Prophet ﷺ, with the like of it and the one before it: "until he takes possession of it."
