✧ Who brought life to a dead land that belonged to no one?

أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيِّتَةً فَهِيَ لَهُ وَلَيْسَ لِعِرْقٍ ظَالِمٍ حَقٌّ» قَالَ اللَّيْثُ ثُمَّ كَتَبْتُ إِلَى هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيَّ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever brings life to a dead land, it is his, and there is no right for an unjust root." Al-Layth said: Then I wrote to Hisham b. 'Urwah, and he wrote back to me with the like of the hadith of Yahya b. Sa'id.
