أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى {وَالَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَاجًا وَصِيَّةً لِأَزْوَاجِهِمْ مَتَاعًا إِلَى الْحَوْلِ غَيْرَ إِخْرَاجٍ} [البقرة 240] قَالَ نَسَخَتْهَا {وَالَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَاجًا يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنْفُسِهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا} [البقرة 234]

✧ From Ikrimah regarding His saying, Exalted is He: "And those of you who die and leave wives behind—a bequest for their wives of maintenance for a year without turning them out" [al-Baqarah 240]; he said: "It was abrogated by: 'And those of you who die and leave wives behind, they shall wait by themselves for four months and ten (days)' [al-Baqarah 234]."
