✧ The belongings of the deceased husband

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى هُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ نَافِعًا يَقُولُ عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتَ عُمَرَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ تُحِدَّ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ إِلَّا عَلَى زَوْجٍ فَإِنَّهَا تُحِدُّ عَلَيْهِ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا»

✧ She heard Hafsah bt. 'Umar, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, report from the Prophet ﷺ: 'It is not lawful for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn more than three days, except for a husband, for whom she mourns four months and ten days.'
