أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ رَاهَوَيْهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ مَوْلًى لَهُمْ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ كَانَتْ لِزَمْعَةَ جَارِيَةٌ يَطَؤُهَا وَكَانَ يَظُنُّ بِآخَرَ

أَنَّهُ يَقَعُ عَلَيْهَا فَجَاءَتْ بِوَلَدٍ شَبَهَ الَّذِي كَانَ تُظَنُّ بِهِ فَمَاتَ زَمْعَةُ وَهِيَ حُبْلَى فَذَكَرَتْ ذَلِكَ سَوْدَةُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ وَاحْتَجِبِي مِنْهُ يَا سَوْدَةُ فَلَيْسَ لَكِ بِأَخٍ»

✧ He had intercourse with her, and she gave birth to a child resembling the one she was suspected with. Then Zamʿah died while she was pregnant. Sawdah mentioned that to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and the Messenger of God ﷺ said: “The child belongs to the bed. And veil yourself from him, O Sawdah, for he is not a brother to you.”
