✧ Attaching the child to the bed if the bed owner does not move.

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ اخْتَصَمَ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ زَمْعَةَ فِي غُلَامٍ فَقَالَ

سَعْدٌ هَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ابْنُ أَخِي عُتْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ ابْنُهُ انْظُرْ إِلَى شَبَهِهِ وَقَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ زَمْعَةَ أَخِي وُلِدَ عَلَى فِرَاشِ أَبِي مِنْ وَلِيدَتِهِ فَنَظَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى شَبَهِهِ فَرَأَى شَبَهًا بَيِّنًا بِعُتْبَةَ فَقَالَ «هُوَ لَكَ يَا عَبْدُ الْوَلِيدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ وَلِلْعَاهِرِ الْحَجَرُ وَاحْتَجِبِي مِنْهُ يَا سَوْدَةُ بِنْتَ زَمْعَةَ» فَلَمْ يَرَ سَوْدَةَ قَطُّ

Translation

✧ Saʿd said: “O Messenger of God, this is the son of my brother ʿUtbah b. Abī Waqqāṣ. He instructed me that he is his son. Look at his resemblance.” And ʿAbd b. Zamʿah said: “He is my brother, born on my father's bed from his slave woman.” The Messenger of God ﷺ looked at his resemblance and saw a clear resemblance to ʿUtbah. He said: “He is yours, O ʿAbd. The child belongs to the bed, and for the fornicator is the stone. And veil yourself from him, O Sawdah bint Zamʿah.” So she never saw him.
