أَخْبَرَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ كَعْبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ كَعْبًا يُحَدِّثُ حَدِيثَهُ حِينَ تَخَلَّفَ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ وَقَالَ فِيهِ إِذَا رَسُولٌ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْتِينِي فَيَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تَعْتَزِلَ امْرَأَتَكَ فَقُلْتُ أُطَلِّقُهَا أَمْ مَاذَا أَفْعَلُ؟ قَالَ «بَلِ اعْتَزِلْهَا وَلَا تَقْرَبْهَا» وَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى صَاحِبَيَّ بِمِثْلِ ذَلِكَ فَقُلْتُ لِامْرَأَتِي الْحَقِي بِأَهْلِكِ وَكُونِي عِنْدَهُمْ حَتَّى يَقْضِيَ اللهُ فِي هَذَا الْأَمْرِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ خَالَفَهُمْ مَعْقِلُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ

✧ From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the campaign of Tabuk. He said in it: When a messenger from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to me, he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commands you to separate from your wife." I said, "Should I divorce her or what should I do?" He said, "Rather separate from her and do not approach her." And he sent to my two companions something similar. So I said to my wife, "Go to your family and stay with them until Allah decides this matter." Abu Abd al-Rahman said: Ma'qil b. Ubayd Allah differed from them.
