أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ النَّسَائِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا قَالَ

تَزَوَّجْتُ فَاطِمَةَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ابْنِ لِي قَالَ «أَعْطِهَا شَيْئًا» قَالَ مَا عِنْدِي شَيْءٌ قَالَ «فَأَيْنَ دِرْعُكَ الْحُطَمِيَّةُ؟» قُلْتُ عِنْدِي قَالَ «فَأَعْطِهَا إِيَّاهُ» خَالَفَهُ سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ

✧ I married Fatimah and said: "O Messenger of Allah, give me something." He said: "Give her something." I said: "I have nothing." He said: "Where is your Hutami armor?" I said: "I have it." He said: "Give it to her." Sa'id b. Abi 'Arubah disagreed with him.
