أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَجْلَحُ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ أَنْكَحَتْ عَائِشَةُ ذَاتَ قَرَابَةٍ لَهَا رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ

رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَهْدَيْتُمُ الْفَتَاةَ أَلَا بَعَثْتُمْ مَعَهَا مَنْ يَقُولُ أَتَيْنَاكُمْ أَتَيْنَاكُمْ فَحَيَّانَا وَحَيَّاكُمْ؟

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "You have given the girl in marriage. Could you not have sent with her someone to say: 'We have come to you, we have come to you, so greet us and we greet you'?"
