أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ سَبْرَةَ الْجُهَنِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَذِنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْمُتْعَةِ فَانْطَلَقْتُ أَنَا وَرَجُلٌ إِلَى امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ فَعَرَضْنَا عَلَيْهَا أَنْفُسَنَا فَقَالَتْ مَا تُعْطِينِي؟ فَقُلْتُ رِدَائِي وَقَالَ صَاحِبِي رِدَائِي وَكَانَ رِدَاءُ صَاحِبِي أَجْوَدَ مِنْ رِدَائِي وَكُنْتُ أَشَبَّ مِنْهُ فَإِذَا نَظَرَتْ إِلَى رِدَاءِ صَاحِبِي أَعْجَبَهَا وَإِذَا نَظَرَتْ إِلَيَّ أَعْجَبْتُهَا فَقَالَتْ أَنْتَ وَرِدَاؤُكَ يَكْفِينِي فَمَكَثْتُ مَعَهَا ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ مِنْ هَذِهِ النِّسَاءِ اللَّاتِي يَتَمَتَّعُ فَلْيُخَلِّ سَبِيلَهَا» قَالَ لَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ

Translation

✧ He said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ permitted mut'a, so I and another man went to a woman of Banu Amir and offered ourselves to her. She said, 'What will you give me?' I said, 'My cloak,' and my companion said, 'My cloak.' My companion's cloak was better than mine, and I was younger than him. When she looked at my companion's cloak she liked it, and when she looked at me she liked me. She said, 'You and your cloak are enough for me.' So I stayed with her for three days. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whoever has any of these women with whom he is enjoying mut'a, let him let her go.'” Abu Abd al-Rahman said to us: “This is a sahih hadith.”
