أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْثَرُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
عَلَّمَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ التَّشَهُّدَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَالتَّشَهُّدَ فِي الْحَاجَةِ قَالَ التَّشَهُّدُ فِي الْحَاجَةِ أَنَّ الْحَمْدَ لِلَّهِ نَسْتَعِينُهُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ وَنَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شُرُرِ أَنْفُسِنَا مَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلِ اللهُ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَيَقْرَأُ ثَلَاثَ آيَاتٍ خَالَفَهُ شُعْبَةُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us the tashahhud in prayer and the tashahhud for a need. He said: The tashahhud for a need is: 'All praise is due to Allah; we seek His help and His forgiveness, and we seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our souls. Whomever Allah guides, none can lead astray, and whomever He leads astray, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.' And he recites three verses. Shu'bah b. al-Hajjaj differed from him.
