✧ The prohibition of marrying a virgin until obtaining permission, and a divorced woman until obtaining consent

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا زَوَّجَ ابْنَةً لَهُ وَهِيَ كَارِهَةٌ فَأَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ وَذَكَرَ كَلِمَةً مَعْنَاهَا أَبِي زَوَّجَنِي رَجُلًا وَأَنَا كَارِهَةٌ وَقَدْ خَطَبَنِي ابْنُ عَمٍّ لِي فَقَالَ «لَا نِكَاحَ لَهُ انْكِحِي مَنْ شِئْتِ»

✧ A man married off his daughter while she was unwilling. She came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "Indeed..." and he mentioned a word meaning "my father married me to a man while I am unwilling, and my cousin proposed to me." He said: "There is no marriage for him; marry whom you wish."
