al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 5350

✧ Marriage of the man to his young daughter, and mentioning the differences in the words of the narrators regarding the story of Aisha, the mother of the believers, in that situation.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ رَاهَوَيْهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

«تَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَائِشَةَ وَهِيَ بِنْتُ سِتِّ سِنِينَ وَبَنَى بِهَا وَهِيَ بِنْتُ تِسْعٍ» قَالَ لَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مُطَرِّفُ بْنُ طَرِيفٍ الْكُوفِيُّ أَثْبَتُ مِنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ وَحَدِيثُهُ أَشْبَهُ بِالصَّوَابِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ

Translation

✧ "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Aisha when she was six years old, and consummated the marriage when she was nine." Abu Abd al-Rahman said to us: Mutarrif b. Tarif al-Kufi is more reliable than Israel, and his hadith is more likely correct, and Allah knows best.
