أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ فِي حَدِيثِهِ عَنْ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ

قُلْنَا لِخَبَّابٍ هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» قُلْتُ بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ كُنْتُمْ تَعْرِفُونَ؟ قَالَ «بِاضْطِرَابِ لِحْيَتِهِ»

✧ We said to Khabbab: Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite in Zuhr and ʿAsr? He said: “Yes.” I said: How did you know? He said: “By the movement of his beard.”
