أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ سَمِعْتُ نَافِعًا يُحَدِّثُ

أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَقُولُ «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَبِيعَ بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَى بَيْعِ بَعْضٍ وَلَا يَخْطُبُ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ الرَّجُلِ حَتَّى يَتْرُكَ الْخَاطِبُ قَبْلَهُ أَوْ يَأْذَنَ لَهُ الْخَاطِبُ»

✧ ‘Abd Allah b. ‘Umar used to say: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade that any of you sell over the sale of another, and that a man propose on top of another man’s proposal until the first suitor gives up or gives him permission.”
