✧ The ruling on someone who drinks alcohol consecutively

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِذَا شَرِبَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِذَا شَرِبَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِذَا شَرِبَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ وَذَكَرَ كَلِمَةً مَعْنَاهَا فَاقْتُلُوهُ» خَالَفَهُ عَاصِمُ بْنُ بَهْدَلَةَ

Translation

  5. Abū Hurayrah

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever drinks wine, flog him; then if he drinks, flog him; then if he drinks, flog him; then if he drinks for the fourth time"—and he mentioned a word meaning "kill him." Asim b. Bahdalah contradicted him.
