أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ صَالِحٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ نَبْهَانَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ كَانَ عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَا إِذَا كَانَ لِإِحْدَانَا مُكَاتَبٌ «فَقَضَى مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ كِتَابَتِهِ فَاضْرِبْنَ دُونَهُ الْحِجَابَ» تَأْوِيلُ قَوْلِ اللهِ جَلَّ ثَنَاؤُهُ {وَآتُوهُمْ مِنْ مَالِ اللهِ الَّذِي آتَاكُمْ} [النور 33]

  4. Nabhān a freed slave of Um Salamah
  5. Um Salamah

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had enjoined upon us: "When one of you has a mukātab and he pays off what remains of his kitāba, then put the hijab between you and him." This is the interpretation of the words of Allah, glorified be His praise: {And give them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you} [al-Nūr 33].
