أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةَ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ بْنِ سُهَيْلٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَعْتَقَ غُلَامًا لَهُ

عَنْ دُبُرٍ وَكَانَ مُحْتَاجًا فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَدَعَاهُ فَقَالَ «أَعْتَقْتَ غُلَامَكَ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْتَ أَحْوَجُ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ يَشْتَرِيهِ؟ قَالَ نُعَيْمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَا فَاشْتَرَاهُ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ثَمَنَهُ فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَى صَاحِبِهِ

✧ About a mudabbar, and he was in need. That was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he called him and said: "Did you manumit your slave?" He said: "Yes." The Prophet ﷺ said: "You are more in need of him." Then he said: "Who will buy him?" Nu'aym b. 'Abd Allah said: "I will." So he bought him. Then the Prophet ﷺ took his price and handed it to his owner.
