أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُمْهَانَ عَنْ سَفِينَةَ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَمْلُوكًا لِأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَقَالَتْ §أُعْتِقُكَ وَأَشْتَرِطُ عَلَيْكَ

أَنْ تَخْدُمَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَا عِشْتَ فَقُلْتُ إِنْ لَمْ تَشْتَرِطِي عَلَيَّ مَا فَارَقْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَا عِشْتُ فَأَعْتَقَتْنِي وَاشْتَرَطَتْ عَلَيَّ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Qutaybah b. Saʿīd
  2. ʿAbd al-Wārith
  3. Saʿīd b. Jumhān
  4. Safīnah

✧ That she serve the Prophet ﷺ as long as I live. I said: If you do not stipulate upon me, I will not part from the Prophet ﷺ as long as I live. So she manumitted me and stipulated upon me.
