al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 4938

✧ servant comes between two people, and one of them will free him, and the narrators differ in reporting the news of Abdullah b. Umar in that matter.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَقُولُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَعْتَقَ نَصِيبًا فِي إِنْسَانٍ كُلِّفَ عِتْقَ مَا بَقِيَ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ فَقَدْ جَازَ مَا صَنَعَ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever frees a share in a person, he is responsible to free the rest; if he has no wealth, then what he did is valid.”
