أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَازِمٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ

أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَادِمًا فَأَعْطَاهَا خَادِمًا فَأَعْتَقَتْهَا فَقَالَ «مَا فَعَلْتِ الْخَادِمُ؟» قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَعْتَقْتُهَا قَالَ «أَمَا إِنَّكِ لَوْ أَعْطَيْتِهَا أَخْوَالَكِ كَانَ أَعْظَمَ لِأَجْرِكِ»

✧ She asked the Prophet ﷺ for a servant, and he gave her a servant, and she manumitted her. He said: "What did you do with the servant?" She said: "O Messenger of Allah, I manumitted her." He said: "Indeed, if you had given her to your maternal uncles, it would have been a greater reward for you."
