أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ خَالِدٌ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُرِّيَّ بْنَ قَطَرِيٍّ

عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أُرْسِلُ كَلْبِي فَيَأْخُذُ الصَّيْدَ فَلَا أَجِدُ مَا أَذْبَحُهُ بِهِ فَأَذْبَحُهُ بِالْمَرْوَةِ وَالْعَصَا قَالَ «أَهْرِقِ الدَّمَ بِمَا شِئْتَ وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللهِ»

✧ From ʿAdī b. Ḥātim: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, I send my dog and it seizes the game, but I do not find anything with which to slaughter it, so I slaughter it with a sharp stone or a stick.” He said, “Spill the blood with whatever you wish, and mention the name of Allah.”
