أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ فِي حَدِيثِهِ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ

«نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ كِرَاءِ أَرَضِينَا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ذَهَبٌ وَلَا فِضَّةٌ فَكَانَ الرَّجُلُ يُكْرِي أَرْضَهُ بِمَا عَلَى الرَّبِيعِ وَالْأَقْبَالِ وَأَشْيَاءَ مَعْلُومَةٍ وَسَاقَهُ» وَرَوَاهُ سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ فَاخْتُلِفَ عَلَى الزُّهْرِيِّ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ عَنْهُ

Translation

Chain of narrators

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited us from renting our lands. At that time there was no gold or silver; a man would rent his land for what grew on the spring channels and the heads of streams and other specified things, and he mentioned the hadith. Salim b. 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar narrated it from Rafi' b. Khadij, and there is disagreement about al-Zuhri's narration from him.
