أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ أَرْضٌ فَلْيَزْرَعْهَا فَإِنْ عَجَزَ أَنْ يَزْرَعْهَا فَلْيَمْنَحْهَا أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ وَلَا يُزْرِعْهَا إِيَّاهُ»

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Ismāʿīl b. Masʿūd
  2. Khālid b. al-Ḥārith
  3. ʿAbd al-Malik
  4. ʿAṭāʾ
  5. Jābir

✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever has land, let him cultivate it; if he is unable to cultivate it, let him grant it to his Muslim brother and not have him cultivate it for him."
