أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ وَاللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ فَرْقَدَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَالِكِ بْنِ حُذَافَةَ حَدَّثَهُ عَنِ الْعَالِيَةِ بِنْتِ سُبَيْعٍ

أَنَّ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حَدَّثَتْهَا أَنَّهُ مَرَّ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ رِجَالٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ يَجُرُّونَ شَاةً لَهُمْ مِثْلَ الْحِمَارِ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَوْ أَخَذْتُمْ إِهَابَهَا؟» فَقَالُوا إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُطَهِّرُهَا الْمَاءُ وَالْقَرَظُ»

✧ Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, narrated to her that some men of Quraysh passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dragging a sheep of theirs that was like a donkey. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to them, “Why not take its skin?” They said, “It is dead.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Water and qaraz (acacia pods) purify it.”
