✧ The obligation of jihad.

أَخْبَرَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «بُعِثْتُ بِجَوَامِعِ الْكَلِمِ وَنُصِرْتُ بِالرُّعْبِ وَبَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ أُتِيتُ بِمَفَاتِيحِ خَزَائِنِ الْأَرْضِ فَوُضِعَتْ فِي يَدِي» قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقَدْ ذَهَبَ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنْتُمْ تَنْتَثِلُونَهَا

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "I was sent with the most concise expressions, and I was aided by awe, and while I was sleeping, I was given the keys to the treasures of the earth, and they were placed in my hand." Abu Hurayrah said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has gone, and you are taking from them."
