أَخْبَرَنِي الْفَضْلُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ كِلَابِ بْنِ تَلِيدٍ

أَنَّهُ بَيْنَا هُوَ جَالِسٌ مَعَ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ إِذْ جَاءَهُ رَسُولُ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ يَقُولُ ابْنُ خَالَتِكَ يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامَ وَيَقُولُ كَيْفَ الْحَدِيثُ الَّذِي أَخْبَرْتِنِي عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ عُمَيْسٍ؟ قَالَ سَعِيدٌ أَخْبِرْهُ أَنَّ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ عُمَيْسٍ أَخْبَرْتِنِي أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لَأْوَاءِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَشِدَّتِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَهِيدًا أَوْ شَفِيعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

✧ While he was sitting with Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab, a messenger from Nāfiʿ b. Jubayr came to him saying, “Your maternal cousin sends you greetings of peace and says: How is the hadith you told me from Asmāʾ bt. ʿUmays?” Saʿīd said, “Tell him that Asmāʾ bt. ʿUmays informed me that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, ‘No one endures the hardship and severity of al-Madīnah except that I will be a witness or an intercessor for him on the Day of Resurrection.’”
