✧ We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until when we were at al-Ḥarrah, at al-Suqyā which belonged to Saʿd b. Abī Waqqāṣ, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Bring me water for ablution.” So he performed ablution, then stood and faced the qiblah. Then he said: “O Allah, Ibrahim was Your servant and Your intimate friend, and he supplicated for the people of Makkah for blessing. I am Muhammad, Your servant and Your Messenger, and I supplicate to You for the people of Madinah that You bless their mudd and their ṣāʿ twice as much as You blessed the people of Makkah, blessing upon blessing.” We were informed by Qutaybah b. Saʿīd, from Mālik b. Anas, from Isḥāq b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Abī Ṭalḥah, from Anas b. Mālik, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “O Allah, bless them in their measuring vessel, and bless them in their ṣāʿ and in their mudd,” meaning the people of Madinah.
