أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُزَاحِمُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ مُحَرِّشٍ الْكَعْبِيِّ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «خَرَجَ مِنَ الْجِعِرَّانَةِ مُعْتَمِرًا لَيْلًا فَدَخَلَ مَكَّةَ لَيْلًا فَقَضَى عُمْرَتَهُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ مِنْ تَحْتِ لَيْلَتِهِ فَأَصْبَحَ بِالْجِعْرَانَةِ كَبَائِتٍ فَلَمَّا زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ مِنَ الْغَدِ خَرَجَ فِي بَطْنِ سَرِفَ حَتَّى جَاءَ مَعَ الطَّرِيقِ طَرِيقَ الْمَدِينَةِ بِسَرِفَ فَلِذَلِكَ خَفِيَتْ عُمْرَتُهُ عَلَى كَثِيرٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ went out from al-Jiʿrānah at night intending ʿumrah, entered Makkah at night, completed his ʿumrah, then left during that same night, and returned to al-Jiʿrānah in the morning like one who had spent the night there. When the sun declined the next day, he departed through the valley of Sarif until he joined the road to Madinah at Sarif. For that reason his ʿumrah was hidden from many people.
