أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ لَمَّا قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَكَّةَ «طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ سَبْعًا ثُمَّ صَلَّى خَلْفَ الْمَقَامِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّفَا مِنَ الْبَابِ الَّذِي يَخْرُجُ إِلَيْهِ فَطَافَ بِالصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ» قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَيُّوبُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ سُنَّةٌ

✧ I heard Ibn ʿUmar say: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Makkah, he circumambulated the House seven times, then prayed two rakʿahs behind the Maqam, then went out to al-Safa from the door that leads to it, and performed the saʿy between al-Safa and al-Marwah. Shuʿbah said: Ayyub informed me from ʿAmr b. Dinar from Ibn ʿUmar that he said: It is a sunnah.
