✧ ʿUmrah during the months of Hajj was among the most wicked acts of wickedness on earth: they would treat Muharram as Safar, and they would say, “When the sore on the camel’s back heals, and the fur grows again, and Safar comes to an end”—or he said, “Safar begins”—then ʿUmrah becomes lawful for whoever wishes to perform it. Then the Prophet ﷺ and his companions arrived on the morning of the fourth day, pronouncing the talbiyah for Hajj, and he ordered them to turn it into ʿUmrah. That seemed enormous to them, and they said, “O Messenger of God, what kind of coming out of ihram?” He said, “Complete coming out of ihram.”
